About Us

Overton Music was established in 2024 initially to support artists, with whom Blind Raccoon has worked over the years. Supported by Select-O-Hits, also based in Memphis, it’s no surprise the label’s name is in recognition of all things Overton – Overton Park Shell where Elvis performed his first concert in 1954, the legendary O.V. Wright, and Overton Park Avenue that runs by the end of the street.

It was also fitting that the label’s debut album is by a member of Memphis Music Royalty, Vaneese Thomas. Blind Raccoon had worked with Vaneese on her previous four blues and soul albums, so it was pretty much a slam dunk for Overton Music to release Stories In Blue.

Future projects on the slate include music from Mike Bourne, Tomi Goluban, Jennifer Porter and the re-introduction of the Blind Raccoon Collection with Volume 5 coming in January 2025.
